2 hours in, feedback and impressions time,

first impressions are good, what i first saw and understood is nothing to what is in the game now 2 hours later, so for me it's the first impressions that need to be captured and kept if the game is wanting to expand from EA to a AAA title,

my opinions to do this is give the users more options at start up, as it is, 50% may be put off with the slow pace of the game, or limited options on offer, remember more sales come from positive feedback than bad press, it's common sense, if i reviewed this, and only saw a limited amount of what's in the game, it wouldn't score well, so imo again only give uses the choice, which includes reviews etc to see what mid to late games look and feel like, this way the game will imo get a better and more appropriate score than what a early game review may get.

it's for me too slow at the start, with limited options, so i would mark it down for it, and so will many others, alter this with a simple in game save if you don't wish to alter the design and offer sliders so others can see a mid to late game challenge

it costs nothing to bundle a mid term game with it, and imo would give a better overall impression, and also what have you to lose

seems easy isn't or isn't meant to be a cake walk or walk in the park, logs uploaded as will play this until the end of today, then move onto another planned test, if you have anything you wish me to work on or towards to say, or i'll tend to wander off just testing all parts of the game one by one, takes time but if no direction or path is given i just work off my list of what's been done and what is left to do.

you get the picture, windows 10 is crap in game at doing screen shots as you never know what your taking as worked or not until you press paint to see it

all i can say to this is atm i won

not sure if it's because i'm cheating or on easy so will test more and add better comments later, but the other side doesn't seem to be attacking me once i've found them, they seem rather placid atm and quite content to sit on there planet and wait for me to come to them at my leisure.

can't say space combat is great, but not bad either, will need to form a better and more correct opinion once i've done some more testing, atm it's rather crude and bland, but when cheating it's hard to make a different opinion other than this on only one encounter, the rest of the time i've ran away, always my main plan and play style

the view and summary of the battle works very well, and imo does make for a good reply, that's if you have won of course

story board bits are done well and imo as this is only the first one i've seen apart from the first one before the turn on T1, imo i hope there is more of them, as without your rather let on your own, missions and extra bits and distastes and finds all adds up to re play ability in my game and opinion if there random that is

impressed with the auto fire of the defensive death star weapons when the other attacking side launched a shed load of nukes at me, they all got blown away with one hitting in one go, impressive firepower for late game tech

seems the missile cruiser is the one to look out for, range attack and quite a punch, so auto fire in defense mode seems to work very well

some tech still needs tool tips, as no idea what they do or mean without them, so guess it's WIP

4 hours in, and loosing track of time, which is always a good sign to me that i'm enjoying myself, now need to focus on looking and finding and not playing, which is hard on a new test as if it's boring, i'm ready to call time after an hour or 2 and only spend a limited amount of my time on it each and every day, it i enjoy it, it helps, as nobody like to test a turkey as it's hard to keep saying not nice things on someone else's baby, and as i don't know you, i'm honest, if i like something i say so, if it's cr@p i also speak my mind and give a very honest and up front opinion, and i'm more than happy to say i like it, i like it a lot, the UI is spot on, easy of use is and has been very well done and thought about, you all must have a passion and design like you want to play it, which is good, now to sell it to others in another matter, first you have to get them to see it and enjoy it, as at the start my opinion is and was lower, much lower, the depth and enjoyment only comes imo after you have started to spread out, too much death and defeat at the start will kill any thoughts of enjoyment as if it's too hard, then only grogheads will attempt to play it, as nothings hard enough for that bread of player...

you get messages when your weapons hit and a ship gets destroyed but trying to get a screen shot of them or even see what it says it sometimes hard, imo it may work better if you could zoom or slow down the replays a bit

edited

so that you can, it's just i have no ability to screen shot the display once it's in play back mode in windows 10 AE anyway, a shame but can live with it

just looked as well the game default shortcut leads to the 32bit version, so deleted it and made one to the 64bit one, and will carry on with this for now until told other wise, as i can't see why not use the one which will suit my system better, not that the 32bit one didn't work fine that is :ugeek:
