Community Steam Workshop opening.

I as just wondering if it is possible to add to the game the possibility to allow the community to add workshop articles like spaceship layout and races to the game (a bit like Galactic Civ). That would allow the community to easily add several ship layouts with race specific spaceships and so on. Would be fun to let the game expand heavily under the community.
