Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Can't find it now, but remember an update saying something about bringing a "battle summary" "event" right after the battle. It has a (unwanted) side-effect - after you successfully attack a planet it skips the "invasion" screen, goes to the "summary", and than to some unrelated "event" (yes, you can find and click the "bomb" symbol, but it's annoying at best).

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Oops. Should be fixed in patch I'm uploading right now (r17788). (This version also includes a few unfinished features related to the galactic council victory condition -- so, um, if you see any reports related to that, just be aware they they probably won't do anything until the end of the day.)bjg wrote:Can't find it now, but remember an update saying something about bringing a "battle summary" "event" right after the battle. Thanks again for all the testing help.

Extended range bug See uploaded game 1414
Currently have a Free ports agreement with the Yoral. Near star system Asur, for some reason, my range bubble has blipped outwards. Either a yoral colony is not showing (when it should), or when I made trade agreements (NO free ports agreement) with the Ashdar colonials something went sideways.

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Confirmed as an invisible colony, should not fresh colonies by a free port ally show up on map?
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Game 1415 *same game farther on* . Human player attempts to contact me, I am playing humans, game crashes. Also, at that point restart option hard crashes out of game. Rephrase, I am playing humans, and am the only human player *unless random did something odd*

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
The human contacting you is a minor faction leader - so there's nothing unexpected there. The bug has to do with some logic I added for better handling food/coin resource requests, but didn't properly test in the case of a metal resource request. I've just uploaded a quick patch (r17818).Chasm wrote:Game 1415 *same game farther on* . Human player attempts to contact me, I am playing humans, game crashes. (The explored system issue is going to take a bit longer -- there are a bunch of cases here around conquering / exploring systems that I need to make sure we're handling properly.)

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
As of r17827, I believe that open ports should give you an 'explored system' notification any time the other empire expands to a system you haven't explored. Similarly, if you have an alliance, as your ally explores new systems, you should get information on them as well.Chasm wrote:Confirmed as an invisible colony, should not fresh colonies by a free port ally show up on map?
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Game 1427 Contacting Ashdar colonial splinter colony and setting up embassy caused crash. Upon ignoring error, embassy is established , but I did not get charged reputation to do it . See game 1428. Different game, same bug, see game 1429.

Should be fixed as of r17834. Thanks once again. (Also, I suspect you may have just broken mharmless's record for most bugs isolated and reported within a single morning. So, congratulations?)Chasm wrote:Game 1427 Contacting Ashdar colonial splinter colony and setting up embassy caused crash. Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
If you have a bit more protestors than "normals" (not enough to revolt though) and colonize a planet in the system it's being colonized with protestors who immediately revolt. That is odd. Do you internally store protestors as different species?

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Hrm, yes, internally, protesters are complicated, because in some places they need to behave as if they're a separate population group / species, and in other places, both protesters and normal population need to be treated as a single unit. Internally, they're being kept in separate "bins" by default, which means I'm more likely to forget to merge them when they ought to be merged, rather than the opposite. This particular bug should be fixed as of 'r17872'.bjg wrote:If you have a bit more protestors than "normals" (not enough to revolt though) and colonize a planet in the system it's being colonized with protestors who immediately revolt. Also, I'm aware that your saves now have very long load times -- there was an inefficiency in some of the data handling around rebellions. That inefficiency has since been addressed, but very large maps that date from before the patch are still going to be burdened with a lot of unnecessary overhead. So, if you find that the load / AI processing times in your current game are getting ridiculous, I *think* you should see a significant improvement the next time you do a play-through on a similarly sized map.
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
I'm from an older generation (grass was greener and computers bigger), so everything under a minute seems fast enough.sven wrote:I'm aware that your saves now have very long load times -- there was an inefficiency in some of the data handling around rebellions.
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Game 1440 AI started a battle after turn was ended.
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Social engineering is not giving the improvement slot as listed. See game 1441. Social engineering was just researched turn prior.
Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
That is common if you get "smart" and avoid acting on an "intervene" dialog. Did you?Chasm wrote:Game 1440 AI started a battle after turn was ended.
