The newest dev build gives me the same error on startup on two separate machines:
error: missing file Lua
state\drawers\PopIcons\chibi\gremak_marauder\layer_info.table:
so on and so forth. I'd copy and paste it, but it won't let me and it's far too long to write here.

Yes I had that too, but a fresh install of the game fixed that for me =)
Re: New Dev Build Does Not Work
I get the same error, I've sent the error information to Sven.
We have a lot of changes in this patch, there are going to be a few bumps.

Re: New Dev Build Does Not Work
This bug comes from having retired "marauders" as a distinct racial population type. In the new patch, you'll still find marauders running NPC factions, but now the marauders themselves are actually a type of ground combat unit. They behave roughly like tanks, but with the ability to capture slaves, instead of just destroying population.
A fix should be posted on 'dev'.

New build is pretty damn great. Finally able to settle in with it. Will it be feature complete by EA?
Any concerns with other competition coming out this next month?

All of the major features should be in at Early Access, but there will still be a lot of content to add (much of it in terms of the diplomatic event system) and UI revamps to do. The current plan is to go into Early Access in mid-September and then spend the next 2-3 months to add content and polish.
Timing of competing releases is a concern, but it's something we don't have any control over. We'll concentrate on making SIS as fun as we can in the time we have left.
