Reduced the frequency of several types of planet disaster events. (Quote from the development changelog thread .)
Spent a bit of time thinking about this, and I'm not sure it's the right direction to go in. Disasters are already pretty rare; making them rarer overall seems like it would make them ...

Re: More details on the DLC!
Speaking of Gremak and harmonization: are there any plans to allow (some?) of the native races to be harmonized or enslaved?
Aside: it makes perfect sense that you can't do either to Gaiads or Viscid (and possibly also the Pell), and several native races (Wremmit, Pell, Spice Traders, and Threshers ...

Gauss cannons
How would a Gauss Cannon be different from a Mass Driver or Railgun?
More powerful mass driver/rail gun?
That works for me.
Personally, I'd rather see a Gauss Needler tech, as a higher-tier ballistic PD weapon. I don't think we need a more powerful medium or heavy ballistic weapon ...

Re: Suggest - Features and Improvements
Ground units auto-upgrade, but the upgraded versions are also more expensive to make. Which leads to an odd optimization condition: when possible, you want to build as many of your tanks as you can before researching those upgrades. I'd suggest that if they're going to auto-upgrade, the upgraded ...

Re: Food & Metal?
Yeah, you're optimizing for different things. Your strategy is clearly viable, and I'll have to give it a try sometime just for variety, but it's certainly nothing I'd call optimal.
Ten science destroyers, for example, costs you 750 production and 450 metal - but only gives you 20 research ...

Re: Food & Metal?
I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make here - it seems to be something about there being "only one optimal strategy"? Though it's also clear that your playstyle doesn't match what I'd consider optimal play - perhaps we're optimizing different things? Here, then, is a contrasting ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Tinkers don't lose population when overpopulated. And, as they (by design) also don't take morale penalties for overpopulation, you can overload a planet with tinkers with no penalties.

Re: Macro-manage Late game large scale
Personally not a fan of the 'small ships go obsolete' theory. On the other hand, the only other notion I've been able to come up with for how to manage large-scale combats is... not a good fit for Stars in Shadow. Even something basic like a fleet size limit (perhaps justified as 'drive interference ...

Re: Modding to increase difficulty
The two best counters I've found have been to play as the Ashdar Imperials - one turn response time is plenty when you've got cheap star gates everywhere - or react to a war with the Gremak with an immediate overwhelming offense; if they're busy defending their own systems, they're less likely to be ...

Re: Modding to increase difficulty
From my experience, stealthed ships are visible when they're one turn away from arrival at one of your systems, and if you see a fleet of Gremak troop transports, it's usually safe to assume they're backed by some actual combat ships.

Re: Influence generating beside embassies
I'm not certain of this, but - at least in my experience - I've only gotten random diplomatic events when I've had embassies established. Edit: On the other hand, sometimes - especially with the Phidi - it's possible to start off friendly enough to establish an embassy at zero cost.

Planetary defenses are a different category of slot; you can research up to three of them.

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Just got a crash while trying to load a save from the main title screen; it was taking a while and I wandered off for a bit, and when I came back the screen had gone black and popped up the red error box, something about threading? I didn't catch the exact words, and clicking on 'report' or 'copy ...

Re: Which is your favorite race and why?
The thing I found weird about playing the Ashdar Colonials is that they've got all this lore about having a fleet base... and then they don't start with a fleet base. I mean, I kinda get why - scrapping such a thing would give an overly-large boost to early-game metal stockpiles - but surely there's ...

Re: Which is your favorite race and why?
Favorite race, for me, would be the Ashdar Teros, with the Phidi as a close second, followed by Tarrib and Orthin. That ranking, however, is based on appearance, design aesthetic, and game lore, rather than game mechanics. (Though I'll admit that the Gremak do have some very pretty hulls.)
