Re: Terraforming
That said, Sven and I talked about the possibility of a special Ocean world transformation for the Gardeners that's analogous to the Island-Coral World custom transformation, and I'm starting to think that makes sense. But we have to be careful about making these transformations too good, or they ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Uploaded game_8206, thinking this might be known currently but it's been a while since I saw it -- I agreed to not colonize a system to the Gremak, a few turns later the Gremak show up to colonize it, I claim this is my space and they agree to withdraw. Seems like they should kind of laugh off my ...

Re: Suggestion - Game start with pre-explored
This kind of thing would make a neat pre-start mini-game or something, I think... start 100 years earlier and a "blank slate" with no research done, and let the player choose which items to research (with strong recommendations for colony hulls etc.) and include some things like a planet-hunting ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Did you (silently) return the starting factory on "Brutal" or is this a bug?
It was intentional, but I'll probably reverse it in the next patch. Getting difficultly right is difficult, and when the patch notes say something vague like "Adjustments to AI behaviors and advantages" it usually means ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
"Error in the food shortage report formatter" uploaded as game_8165.
Basically agreed to zero out my surplus food to give a neutral human refugee planet 10 food/turn, then immediately turned around and asked them to join my empire. The food level went up to +9 instead of +10, so I guess the planet ...

Re: Testing Economic Balance Changes
Yeah. One of the AI's real weaknesses is that it doesn't specialize planets as aggressively as a careful human player will. So while the AI may sometimes use "Mining" or "Research", it generally won't get as big a benefit from them as a human player who's built up a whole world with the intention ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Creating outposts is now crashing the game? I thought at first it might be something with an outpost around a habitable planet, but it crashes on gas giants as well. Uploaded a few examples, I think the last was Game_8146.

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
Having a good run through a game, racking up some technologies as I fight off marauders... completed Bombers technology and got 14% towards a "Hidden Bases" technology. Ooh, what's that? I ask.

Re: Intel HD Graphics Crashes
Quick note -- while I'm not sure how many people are using just base laptop graphics as in this thread, I am ;) so... somewhere in the last few updates the "DBGHELP.DLL is old" bug is back (or now present) for my Intel HD Graphics 4000. It was definitely not present until recently; I didn't really ...

Re: Video Card Bugs
Hi there! New tester here... I have the Intel HD Graphics 4000, and have now run out of memory twice (crash to desktop), and had one in-game error that was almost certainly a planet texture (the planet "spot" was a big black square, and the error cleared when I moved the focus away from the system ...
