Any plans for you to provide a couple different backgrounds for the strategic map? Something less...blue?

What if the current background would always be the same, but extended with an additional layer of conditional elements such as:
- Gravitational anomalies around HSA nodes: some streaming white lines like waves with the effect of increasing travel time from and to affected systems by 1-3
- Random Red clouds of radiation that massively reduce shield capacity (planets are protected by the magnetic fields
- Random asteroid showers passing by - improvement destruction may occur on affected systems like the sabotation events
- Some animation when Stargate is in the system and an altered version of it for Ancient Stargate

That would be relatively easy to do.

Additional animation would be cool (though not as easy as a different background), but it wouldn't address the issue of the people who don't like the blue background.
