Phidi and Ashdar Imperials Factions Locked

As of the latest 'stable' build (r16948) it will no longer be possible to start new games as either the Phidi or Ashdar Imperials.

Both races still have significant unfinished mechanics (mercenary hiring in the case of the Phidi, and the Stargate techs in the case of the Imperials), and with the Steam EA coming up, we're looking to steer new players towards those races that are closer to their release state.

That said, it wouldn't hurt to have some of our more experienced beta testers continue bug hunting while playing as either of the two newly locked races. So be advised that you can remove the faction locks by going into your 'saved_options.lua' file, and adding the line:

options.lock_races_for_ea=false

Does the Gremak Not-a-Cloaking-device work? I saw that there is a tech & ship module already there.
How is it supposed to work? On the galaxy map? In combat? Both? :mrgreen:
