Good news! We are in the final stages of signing with a publisher, the details of which will be announced next week on Thursday, April 21. This deal will allow us to complete the game in time for release in the second half of this year. It will also require us to stop selling new pre-orders on this site after that date, though all existing pre-orders will be honored under the new contract and our beta program will continue. We will continue to sell pre-orders through Wednesday April 20 at the current price of $19.99 USD; the price on release is likely to be higher. After that, the pre-order page will be taken down, but testers and pre-purchasers will continue to have access to the beta going forward.

We would like to thank everyone for your continued support, and especially our testers and pre-order customers who have played a critical role in helping us get to this point. We look forward to bringing you a completed version of Stars in Shadow later this year.

update: Ashdar Games has signed an agreement to publish Stars in Shadow with Iceberg Interactive, well-known publisher of such 4X space titles as Endless Space, StarDrive, and Armada 2526. The official press release is available here.

We’re really looking forward to working with Iceberg. They have an excellent track record in the genre, and Stars in Shadow will certainly benefit from their experience and support. The release is currently targeted for Q3 2016.

That is really great news.
BTW Are you really gonna make it? As far as I can see game really is missing contents and UI is far from done.

It's an aggressive schedule, and we'll do our best to make it, but if there are delays and the schedule slips, then it slips. That's life in the development biz.

Support from the publisher will allow us to work full-time on the game (instead of having to work on other projects to pay the bills), so that will help.

God speed then.
The game is interesting. Art is great. Hope you add more of it.
It looks like it gonna be MoO 2 successor done right(at last). The streamlined economy development is a plus. Hope you add more types of ships and more races. Still combat is eaither too easy or a chore. But that come with MoO 2 design. Anyway it looks that 4x are kind of resurected by friendly necromancer.

This is excellent news, glad to hear it!

One thing that pops up now and then on the 4xgaming subreddit is how Star Ruler 2 doesn't get the attention it deserves. It seems to mostly boil down to not having a publisher. I was afraid that the same thing would happen here, because you guys have an excellent product on your hands. Exciting to know that will not be the case!
