Stellar Surge Cannon

Couple questions about the Stellar Surge Cannon.
Does it have SP? Not according to the info, but one SSC (mounted on AI planet) one-shoot my ship with shield 480.
Three SSC mount on one hardpoint of a Dread Star, and all tree are being used to destroy (even small) ship. I believe this is not the case with other weapons.

Would you upload this? That seems wrong. (SSC's do 400 dmg, so I think they should have needed 2 hits.)

I believe that's correct. Or, rather, it's correct that all heavy weapons on a single mount are "expended" after shooting at a particular target. The theory here is that larger weapons can't easily retarget; so if they're all grouped on the same hardpoint, they all need to fire at the same target, even if that implies a huge overkill.

Only weapons with the "point-defense" special should be capable of directing firing from a single mount against multiple different targets.

What's maybe not correct is that you were able to fit multiple SSC's on a single Dread Star hardpoint. I should take another look at those hardpoint specifications.

game_869 is for fleet against planet.
The Dread Star isn't so "dread". I need 3-5 of them against a sizeable fleet. Putting less weapon on it isn't the way. Making more hardpoints - may be.

Ok, what I'm seeing there is that your flanking cruisers only have 240 shields, so a SSC should be capable of taking them out in 1 hit.

game_871 - six shoots, six ships, three of them are Battle Cruisers (480 shields).
869 was for the fps, didn't realize only Command Cruisers where killed there.

game_873 - four shoots, four ships, one of them is Battle Cruiser.

Oh, ok. That does look wrong. (I'm not certain it's wrong that a SSC is capable of taking out a BC (with tier-2 shields) in one shot, but, it's clear that the numbers being shown in game are inconsistent.)

Speaking of the stellar surge cannon, is it supposed to have the accurate modifier, since it already has always hits?

It shouldn't -- that's another little bug.

game_877 - SSC one-shoot BC with tier 4 (TD) shields.

After sending a Dread Star against such planet it seems like SSC indeed does 400 damage, just ignoring the shields. May be this is right. After all, it's not a regular "beam".

SSC misses from time to time, while it shouldn't.
game_920 - it's just missed the planet(!)

Seems like the Stellar Surge Cannon (just) got a range limit - is this intended?
