I played SiS this past weekend without any pointer issues but today it is invisible - I can tell it is registering as I can click menu buttons etc. but I just can't see it. I tried restarting the game and then restarting the computer but neither seemed to fixed it. Anyone ever had this problem?
I see looking back at my own posting history I've had this same problem before:

Hello, first forum post. Just pre-ordered and played the beta for the first time.
Is there a known issue with the mouse pointer in the game? In full screen mode the mouse pointer is invisible (alt-tab seems to bring it back but only until you click on something then it becomes invisible again), in window mode it seems to work fine.
I haven't been able to replicate this bug, but, I have a few suspicions about what might be behind it. A couple candidate fixes have been added as of r13066 (currently on 'dev').
If you still see this behavior on builds >=13066, would you go into Options, disable "edge panning", and let me know if the cursor is still disappears in fullscreen mode?
I tried the various windowed edge panning, locked edge panning, and cursor lock - options but only when I exit full screen does the problem seem to go away.

Well, so much for my ancient theory about what might be causing this issue... You seem to be the only tester who's run into this, which suggests that it could be in some way connected to something specific about your machine. From the debugging info that I can see, it looks like you've got an AMD Radeon HD 6800, though the drivers may not have been updated recently? (The driver date stamp I'm seeing is January, 2014, but that log file dates back to your original 2015 install.)
I'd recommend starting by trying a graphics driver update, and seeing if that helps. If not, can you think of any peripherals you have that might be impacting the mouse behaviors? Do you have a joystick, tablet, game controller, bluetooth keyboard, or any other unusual custom input devices?

I've since replaced the AMD 6800 with a NVIDIA 750Ti (driver 368.39) when I upgraded Win 7 Ultimate to Win 10 Pro.
My computer is pretty vanilla - the only "extra" is a Steam controller. I did try fiddling with the monitor settings. I have a 1920x1080 as my primary display and a 1280x1024 secondary in extended mode. I found if I go full-screen on the secondary I don't have the invisible mouse issue but on primary I have to run windowed.
I changed the 1920x1080 to be the secondary and no more invisible mouse; on 1280x1024 as primary the problem comes back/I have to run in windowed mode.
I also tried using only the 1920x1080 display and the problem persists. Doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

Hmm.... I wouldn't be shocked if the Steam controller is actually in some way involved with this issue. We've had at least one other bug report from someone using one. It wasn't quite the same issue, but, even so, I think I should order a Steam controller of my own and see if I can replicate any of these behaviors.

If so - when I had the problem with the AMD 6800 - I didn't have the Steam Controller.
I'm also not actually using the Steam Controller when I'm playing - if that makes a difference? I'll try removing from my system later this weekend and see if it has any impact.

I tried removing the steam controller but still had the same problem.

Not sure if it is a bug or working as intended...
Game_1083
When playing as Humans, you get a Heavy Cruiser at the beginning of the game. As soon as you build your first Space Station, you are able to refit the cruiser as you want (I added deflectors as soon as I researched them). However, once you research the 'Heavy Hulls' tech that allows you to build Heavy Cruisers, you suddenly lose the ability to refit your first Cruiser at the same planet you refit it on earlier (It is grayed out and the tooltip says you require a planet with two construction modules in orbit).
It makes sense that you shouldn't be able to refit ships unless you have the appropriate infrastructure, but then it should be impossible for you to refit the ship humans get at the start of the game until you have two construction modules in orbit in the first place.

I'll try to give this a go as I just started using my first screen capture/video recorder. They have the ability to hide the mouse button. I also wonder if there is some other 3rd party program that is hiding the mouse graphic. If it’s not repeatable elsewhere, its got to be some local setting killing / hiding the graphic.
I've run into a few things on my end.
Troopships – reloading armor units
When a troopship loses its armor (tank, hover tank, Mech) in battle, you can return it to a planet and reload troops, but not armor units. It functions like a transport in as it allows you to load civilians as standard troops, reducing the effectiveness of the troop ship.
Problem: I cannot find a way to load armor units (After building some on that planet of course) on to the drop ship.
Mineral resources – Math issue
So say I have 1000, and the total minerals mined is 100 per turn. I have a planet that can make 150 producton points. I have a ship that takes 2000 minerals to make. This is where I lose track. If I have 5 factories which generate 50 production points, I am not sure how to figure how much 50 points of production, pulls from the mineral resources. I can’t figure out how to determine how much a ship build project pulls from mineral resources. Also, if I generate 100 minerals a turn and say , however the math works, I use 300 a turn, that’s a loss of 200. So in 5 turns I will have exhausted my 1000 mineral reserves.
Problem: If I need 300 per turn and only generate 100, my production value should drop to 33% not 0-5%. Which is what is happening in the game.
Mineral return – None returning.
Problem: Pretty straight forward. No resource minerals are being returned to me when I scrap a building or ship.
Still loving the game by the way.

I purchased
http://www.darkestdungeon.com/ and had the exact same "Invisible Mouse Pointer" issue. In looking for and trying different solutions - it appears for both games to be somehow related to one or more windows settings:
mouse trails (turned off)
make the mouse disappear when typing (turned off)
custom text scaling (not in use on my computer)
for now it seems to be resolved.

Thanks for reporting your progress tracking down this bug. Those options do indeed look suspicious, though on my own machine, I can't find any combination of them that triggers the invisible cursor bug. Are you able to make it happen reliably, with some set of Pointer options?
If you go to Control Panel -> Mouse Properties -> Hardware, what does it say the Name of your Device is? Mine's "HID-compliant mouse", Manufacturer: "Microsoft".

Mine also says "HID-compliant mouse" turning on mouse trails makes the cursor invisible - turning it off fixes it. I've tried it several times.

When you start using the 64 bit exe and the updater pops up and the you run the game you get the 32 bit version instead.
is there a way to select 64 bit on the updater?

this is a known issue -- hitting the 'play' button from the updater will always launch the 32-bit binary.
it should become a non-issue when we switch to steam distribution though.

This should finally be fixed. In human games started in builds r16135 and higher, humans should start the game with the tech 'Low Orbit Refits'. That gives them the ability to refit any ship, including their starting heavy cruiser, regardless of whether or not they have the infrastructure or technology needed to build it. (Other races don't start the game with this tech, but, they may research it.)
