A more Sparse Galaxy

Post by Captainspire »

Is there anyway to increase the distance between planets in sparse setting?

Also what is the difference between Map Shapes Blackhole, Ellipse, and EllipseSparse ?

Thank you!

Distance between planets? You can set the density of Habitable Planets to Rare, but I'm not sure that's what you mean.

I also don't know what you mean by Blackhole and EllipseSparse map shapes. Maybe you've got some kind of mod?

I dont remember updating a mod, But under Star Density we have
Dense
Normal
Sparse

I was wondering if there was an ability to maybe make a More Sparse option or just have an edit where the stars are even more sparse than the Sparse setting?

In the Map Shape option, there is
Box
Blackhole*
Square
Ellipse*
EllipseSparse*
Ring
Hourglass

But I wasn't sure what the major difference in the three I stared were.

The Map Shape options in the released version of the game are:
Box
Ellipse
Ring
Hourglass

I don't know where those other options would have come from, so I don't know anything about them.

"Sparse" star density is the least dense option short of modding. Creating more space between stars may create situations where the spaces become too far for ships to transit in the early game, which can cripple an unlucky faction that has no reachable stars to expand to.
