Re: So, um, what's the status of this game?
Is that for EA only, or is that the projected time frame for final release?

The reference to Battlestar actually made me think what the humans in SiS remind me of. They remind me of the humans from Titan A.E.

Re: yuppi - MOO gets a new edition!
1) Real-Time combat in a TBS is not a bad thing. Ask a certain franchise called Total War. Now obviously since the first two, the two people admire, was full TBS it does mean there is a tradition and it's always disappointing when a tradition is thrown away without good cause reason (to go back to ...

Re: Blockades in 'mixed' systems.
Unless it changed since I last played the game, we are in auto war since diplomacy is not implemented yet. I imagine blockading only happens when at war and not when at peace.

Re: Some issues about missiles
I agree with Arioch here. Even in the RTS genre the concept of hard counters are falling out favour and there is even pushes for maintained utility (so no more we have tanks so infantry is useless now). 4X games are different but they are still strategy games and these concepts are seen as better to ...

Re: yuppi - MOO gets a new edition!
I am not a fan of the World of Tanks, but it has caused many to be worried they will use the same model for MOO. I can sympathize with that fear since I seen my share of franchise dilution.
However, they assured us it won't be, and as you said, they have a history of strategy gaming. It would be ...

Re: Why does the defender move first?
I agree with Arioch.
The feeling that the attacker should go first is a 'habit' and not even a realistic one. Many will be surprised at how much Hollywoodisms affects are preconceptions, which then is reinforced by conventions.
The concept of the defender being flat-footed stems mostly from ...

Re: Distrubuted Production?
If something like metal was introduced thena soft block would be better like needing extra cash to pay for the missing resources. It would represent getting it on the 'interstellar markets' of sorts or the black markets, or even requisitioning it from the population (money being compensation or who ...

(I suppose one could imagine that the transports flee into deep space, taking desperate refugees hoping to stumble across an as-yet unknown distant civilization, who they can warn of the expanding galactic war... :D)

Re: Introduce yourself :)
Hello everyone!
I'm Gilleous. I been a huge fan of the 4X genre since the early days. I actually played the first triad of MicroProse back when they were new games. Yup, that's the tree: Master of Magic, Master of Orion, and the first Civilization game. Obviously, I was a huge fan of Master of ...
