Re: Antimissles question

This is also sensible. Perhaps a built-in "extra munitions" (which could also be called "magazine").

That's sensible.

Re: Outposts and hydroponics bays

It used to be the case that Colony Ships would use whatever was the majority population on the constructing planet; this led to strange situations in which the player could end up unintentionally creating colonies of a secondary race, which was awkward especially in the case of the Enfi, who are sup...

Re: Master of Orion is dead and being buried

In general I think it looks okay. I'm not thrilled with what I'm seeing of the real-time tactical combat, but unfortunately the video really didn't show us in any detail how it works.

Re: Outposts and hydroponics bays

The only current case in which you'd want to use an outpost would be early in the game if you can't explore any farther in a certain direction because there are no habitable planets to establish a colony on. That rarely happens. I think I once used one because I wanted to make a back-door attack on ...

Re: Intel HD Graphics Crashes

Still doesn't run on my Win10 system. No error message, it just never starts, and the explorer window I tried to launch it from becomes unresponsive.

Re: Outposts and hydroponics bays

I would like to see some deployable to allow us to use gas giants in some aspect (though at a reduced ability). An expensive orbital that produced at a lesser rate then a ground facility might fit the bill. I think the main thing that a gas giant would be useful for would be as a source of special ...

Well, the current Space Station graphic is just a kludge of the deployed Ashdar outpost graphic. They're really the same thing.

Re: Outposts and hydroponics bays

What we plan to do with the Outpost is to make it a more generic hull with a Station slot, and use it both as the deploy-able Outpost and in place of the current Space Station. So you can build one in orbit outfitted with a Construction module, or build one configured for transport with an Outpost m...

Re: Where I'm at with the game

The diplomacy/event system that we're working on right now aims to provide exactly that: more interesting ways to interact with the other factions and the environment, and better context for conflict when it does arise. We'll have more concrete things to say about it once we have the basic systems w...

Re: A suggestion for human ships

I think the capability is appropriate to the race fantasy of Humanity in this setting; the problem is game system scales. The few thousand troops or colonists that a battleship could carry are probably not significant in terms of a game system in which one unit of population represents a million peo...

Re: Terraforming mechanics

So you mean the buy button? Because with the right economy I can literally construct a new 'thing' at each planet once a turn. As long as you have stockpiled enough currency, being able to build a ship every turn is not a problem. You'll eventually run out of currency. True replicators would not re...

Re: Terraforming mechanics

I think we need more late-game techs that give better bonuses to resource production, but there's a limit to what makes sense in gameplay terms. It's probably true that realistically, past a certain technology point, food becomes trivial to produce... but that would mean essentially removing it as a...

It's a cute drawing of Alex. I backtracked a few pages, but don't have much of a clue what's going on.
