Re: Feb 01 - Initial testing / installation

Decided to disembark two population units onto the Arid world in Fargone. Max is 4. 1 there now, room for growth. Each disembark was clumsy. It doesn't go back to my fleet view, leaves me at system view. Have to exit and go get to the next transport. Perhaps back to fleet view after a ...

Re: Feb 01 - Initial testing / installation

Regarding cards needing support, the AMD APUs are actually remarkably beefy and I wouldn't discount them.

Yeah -- the problem isn't the capacity of the chip -- the problem is that I'm using OpenGL for graphics, rather than DirectX, as almost all windows games do. There are pros and cons to that ...

Re: Feb 01 - Initial testing / installation

Planet in the center left of the main menu looks like a disco ball, kaleidoscope of blue/white squares. Rotates approximately 10 degrees and then resets itself. New game. Race selection, they all have a disco ball. Humanity is at the bottom, and it is the only one that isn't a disco ball. I can ...

updater\connect_to_server.lua:165: wrong version number.[/b]

An update just pushed perhaps? Regardless, time to get to work.

This looks like a firewall / security software issue. (More exactly, this may be a case of a security program trying to insert itself into the updater's TLS connection ...

Re: Feb 01 - Initial testing / installation

Came in early to test the installation on my work PC.

Graphical distortion at the top of the main menu, and it looks like an odd bit of graphical tearing underneath the menu as well, near the copyright notice. Programmatically resized/inserted into background?. The primary distortion at the top ...

Re: Some Early Feedback

The middle button being the panning button feels a bit out of place. The option or default to use the left mouse button is more intuitive, methinks. Especially if you won't be dragging the left mouse button at any time. See Endless Legend's/Civ V's default.

This is not quite as easy to fix as it ...

Re: Some Early Feedback

Just going to list things as I noticed them.

The end turn button took me five minutes to find. I'm sure you have a big button on the way, but figured I'd mention it.

Re: Sharing pre-release content

As we say in the installer's licence file, for the time being, we're asking that you guys refrain from sharing this build with your friends, or publicly posting screenshots, youtube videos, etc.

Things are still more than a little rough around the edges, and we'd like more time to polish the game ...

Re: Introduce yourself :)

PS: By the way... Are you going to release DRM-free or via Steam? Excuse me if I overlooked that information somewhere...

The beta, at least, is DRM free. Of course there's a chance we'll start working with one of the larger publishers at some point, but, for the time being, we're just ...

Re: Introduce yourself :)

Found out and applied for Beta few days ago, when are you adding more people?

"Soon." But I'm afraid it's hard to give an estimate that's much more accurate than that ;) We've got a few more features we want to add before widening the beta distribution, and we're also going to need time to fix ...

Ok -- request accepted and download link sent! If that appears to work (or if it doesn't) please drop a post in the Beta Testing forum.
