Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues

Report with the new Legacies DLC installed:

Playing as the Tinkers, I can not invade neutral colonies. Get an error every time I try to examine the colony, look at the defenses or click on the attack button.

Have not replicated the effect with another species yet.

Re: shield capacitor's. Do they do anything?

I hope we get Shield Capacitors soon; a bit of a 'missing feature' for our favorite freaky mud-bugs, though they are already pretty powerful.

Re: More details on the DLC!

Yea I agree, I have a tech research priority scheme worked out that I rarely deviate from, baring some unusual game situation, and I suspect many players have something similar. The tech boosts would be a good way to disrupt that plan in ways that are interesting and will help replayability.

Re: More details on the DLC!

So long as they don't ask for your firstborn or that you cut down the tallest tree on the Gaiad homeworld with a herring that will be ok. :)

Re: More details on the DLC!

I am particularly interested in seeing what makes the Arda such demanding allies; do they just ask for resources, or are their demands more.... disturbing (colonies, pop units, declare war on your most faithful friend....)?

Re: More details on the DLC!

Yea generally I would not worry about balance issues until we get a better sense of the mechanics; I suspect the 'harmonized cyborg' mechanic is deeper than 'no morale issues and can sacrifice them at will'.

More details on the DLC!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/698280/Stars_in_Shadow_Legacies/ SO! Lots of exciting stuff; beyond the Tinkers we get a new NPC faction, new locations, some new mechanics for stations and some other exciting stuff. Really looking forward to this adding some additional depth to the game. What do f...

Re: Can't work out how to play at all

Ouch, sounds like a rough couple of starts. A couple of questions to start: 1) What race were you playing as? 2) When you say 'only two planets that could be colonized' do you literally mean only two that could be colonized without the Biodomes tech, or two that were 'good' candidates? As for genera...

Re: Excuse me, sir, do you have a moment to talk about food and metal?

Yea I think you're getting this backwards; you don't rush-buy science destroyers, you rush-buy LABS, massively more metal-efficient. On research bonus worlds the massed labs are massively(pun intended) more powerful. I usually end up getting around +100 research/turn before the first major war, and ...

Re: Macro-manage Late game large scale

Meaning combat unit size. Physical or numerical. Large boats, large planes, large tanks or larger infantry sizes do not make smaller ones obsolete, it is usually the other way around. As tech advances, the larger unit the larger the chance that it will become outdated and its back to small sizes ag...

Re: Macro-manage Late game large scale

I was thinking less about game-engine breakage then I was about encouraging players to do something else then build the biggest doomstack possible with the resources they have available. Right now there's not a ton of reasons to not just go and try to achieve maximum concentration of force until the...

Re: Influence generating beside embassies

A simple mechanic might be allow players to purchase influence with cash (ie, bribes) but with a steeply escalating cost (you require increasingly more grease for those skids) and/or some sort of relations penalty (it's known that your diplomatic corps is corrupt).
