Re: New zoom feature works well

I'd still like to see "large fleet" indicators of some kind on the galaxy map - any plans on adding those? Or maybe you did and I just didn't build big enough fleets? :) Are you referring specifically to the zoomed-out icons, or fleet icons at all zooms? At zoomed-out level when we're usi...

Re: New zoom feature works well

Played half a game in stable, really enjoying the zoom, seems problem-free - I don't remember seeing any obvious graphical niggles or having problems with selection etc. I'd still like to see "large fleet" indicators of some kind on the galaxy map - any plans on adding those? Or maybe you ...

Pulling transports out of the pool?

Apologies if this has been covered before. I turned on the option "send transports directly to the pool", figured I'd cut down the mouse clicks a little. Works exactly as I'd expect. Now.. I want to load some tanks up. Problem: I have no transports, and the "Move Colonist/Tank" f...

Re: The case against Refits

I just had an idea which I really like. It may or may not be too late to implement since it is mostly changes under the covers - ie minimal UI impact. Each ship component type tracks a new number - call it "maintenance efficiency". It basically abstracts the navy's ability to source parts,...

Re: The case against Refits

Generally speaking, parts and designs have shelf lives past which it becomes not only cost prohibitive but rediculous from an engineering perspective to 'refit' them. I want to refit my canoe into a speedboat. I want to refit my Model T into a Roadster. I want to refit my Commdore 64 into an i7 base...

Re: Steam Early Access Begins

No current plans for the initial release. It seems to be a favorite feature, but it would take some work to balance; this feature in MOO2 was one of the most ridiculously unbalanced parts of the entire game (Omniscient and Creative, please!). Pfffft... SubUniTol FTW. So rediculously broken. Or Demo...

Re: Any other platforms besides Steam?

Ok. Ideally I would like to transition from the beta to a GoG version or something similar with minimal DRM, once you guys GA. Not really interested in steam keys, for my own reasons (not interested in starting a steam debate, I will ignore anyone who replies and says anything about steam itself).

Re: Any other platforms besides Steam?

Will the beta continue to update itself post-GA? Or will I be forced to switch to the Steam version?

Re: Large Patch Incoming

Took about 10 minutes for me to update.

For comparison purposes, I have a 100 Mbit internet connection. Looks like I was getting around 30-40 Mbits while downloading, pretty good!

Re: Farming / Food Changes

"<your race> has a shiny new colony ship. Colony ships start empty so you can choose whom and when to send out into the great beyond. Time to load it up!" I see a lot of D'oh! moments with empty colony ships in orbit of nice planets coming  I'd think it'd be less cumbersome to ch...

Re: Strategic Zoom

Oh come on.Clicking on techs to see other future techs is very annoying and not what one has to come to expect from linear tech trees. For you it is "very annoying". For me it is "almost unnoticable". Different strokes my friend. Would I like a screen a la Civ or Moo with everyt...

Re: Farming / Food Changes

New players would probably need a one-time notification similiar to the trade pool notification which pops up on turn 1 and says something like: "<your race> has a shiny new colony ship. Colony ships start empty so you can choose whom and when to send out into the great beyond. Time to load it ...

Re: First Impression Notes

I wish it were easier to tell big fleets apart from single ships on the main map. YES please. I would really like to see this. Maybe something like this, make it a little bit logarithmic: normal icon: 1-4 ships normal icon with soft white "+" sign in the upper right: 5-20 ships normal ico...

Re: Strategic Zoom

I really wanted a tech tree, until discovering that I could click on a category and get a list of techs for that category. I used to worry that if I didn't research some odd prerequisite that I would miss The Next Missile or something - now I just check the list. It's actually easier and more straig...
