I don't know. While I definitely understand the mechanics of what you are trying to achieve, I still ask myself one question - why?
Currently, if i want to build even a small fleet, I have to drill down to the production queue on a specific planet for each individual ship and then, when they're ...

Distrubuted Production?
I was looking at the Developer Diary interview where it mentions emphasizing the tactical over strategic and had an idea about how ships are produced. I'm not sure how good an idea it is, so I wanted to see what people think.

Re: First Impression
I started up a new game and have an additional question. The initial scout ship has no armament and designing and building a new one takes over 20 turns. Is that a deliberate decision to keep the early game slow? I'm used to being able to send out quite a few scout ships to explore early on in other ...
No PD
I sent an Escort Cruiser with PD Ion Beams in one of it's slots off to take care of some pirate Destroyers that were blocking my expansion. The pirates launched their missiles, but the PD weapons didn't fire, either on the first turn when I was Defending and hadn't issued any orders and in ...

Re: Current State of the Beta: Feedback
Limiting my options to just looking at things while zoomed out makes a lot of sense to me. When I find something that needs doing, I can zoom in to take care of it and zoom back out when I'm done. Although I would find a system that automatically zooms in when I push an action button more convenient ...

Re: Current State of the Beta: Feedback
"indicate you want to do something with a star"?
I would define that as anything that isn't just looking at information, so drilling down to a build queue, moving ships, or combat. But selecting a planet to look at its population or see how far along the progress bar is on the Factory* it's ...

Re: Current State of the Beta: Feedback
Limiting what you can do when looking at things on a large scale makes sense, although it also might work to zoom back into the normal resolution once you select a star system and indicate you want to do something with it. I do wonder how difficult it will be to move fleets over long distances later ...

Re: Current State of the Beta: Feedback
I'm not saying I wouldn't be willing to implement strategic-map zooming, in some form. But I think this is a feature where we need to think carefully about *why* exactly, we want it to be in the game. And how including it would change the flow of gameplay.

Re: First Impression
- Make the title of a highlighted colony something like Rastaban II unless I'm moving population or something.
Can you clarify this one a bit? In most of the ways I can think to interpret this suggestion, the game already works this way -- so, I'm clearly misunderstanding -- we may have a ...

First Impression
These are my first impressions, which I want to convey before I get used to how SiS works and stop noticing things. I realize a lot of stuff is still quite beta, but I'm going to point out everything I notice even if I know it's on the to-do list. Overall, I'd say the game is in pretty good shape ...

Which File To Run?
I didn't have any significant difficulty installing, but now I have a folder with three applications: new_update, sis, and update. Which of those is actually the launcher for the game, or maybe a better way to ask: which of them should I use to make a shortcut for the desktop?

Re: Introduce yourself :)
I always find reading Outsider makes me want to play SotS, so this seems like a good place to be.
