Re: Suggest - Features and Improvements
Why is this undesirable? It is essentially a webpage.
It's not undesirable per se. It's just that it feels a bit retro. I mean - have a look at Wikipedia, for example. All the hyperlinks on the page are simply colored in blue, and the underscore pops visible only on mouseover. In SiS, however ...

Re: Suggest - Features and Improvements
Something like a “cloud of war” for unexplored space on the strategic map would be nice, so that the player doesn’t see what’s happening everywhere in the galaxy right away. For example: on the game start - you can only see your own star system with planets rotating. Other systems are only visible ...

Re: Management of many planets
More abstract management layers would definitely ease micromanagement woes, but it is nevertheless a solution to the wrong problem. There is nothing wrong with micromanagement per se, if you have limited amount of planets/ships/decisions to spend your attention on. The issue arises only if this ...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues
If you show components that can't be equipped, doesn't that just create a different kind of confusion as the player tries in vain to drag it to slots that can't accept it?
It would, if you didn't have any other way of displaying the compatibility between hardpoints and modules. But you DO have ...

Nuclear Missiles not shown in "Avaliable" modules after having been researched
STR:
1. Start new game
2. Research "Guidance Systems"
3. Either try to refit your Scout Cruiser or select "New Design"
= there is no "Nuclear Missiles" module listed under "Available" pane

Re: Suggest - Features and Improvements
... it would be cool to have all of the orbits animate all the time (though much slower than on mouseover), provided that it does not tax the framerate.
That was my immediate idea when I saw those cute animations for the first time :D. And I didn't mention it previously only because of the ...

More ambiance in the game
I really adore all those small visual touches that make the game more immersive, like planets rotating in the UI or star systems getting animated on mouseover. I strongly feel that the game will benefit if more of those are added here and there. Because right now, the ...

Re: Font
This font reminds me a bit of comic books.
Is there something wrong with comic books? :) Should the UI look dull and boring like in this case? http://www.freeorion.org/images/c/c2/FreeOrion_Production_Screen_SVN5938.png

Re: Map size and range.
IMO, its a matter of taste. I could not detect anything "tedious" in MOO2 ship combat system. In contrary, it was great and large battles with dozens of ships were epic.
It was fun on 1-2 occasions at most, for some decisive battles, like with the Antareans for example. Yet in all other cases in ...
