Re: So what is the counter to carriers and/or metric tonnes of missiles?

Shuttles have 30 health, and the Tinkers Vindicators have 25. These are all flat values, not affected by armor tech.

Interceptors are health 10, Bombers are 20, Strike Fighters are 30.

Re: So what is the counter to carriers and/or metric tonnes of missiles?

The "escort cruiser" hulls that most factions have are designed to be specialized for point defense. What determines missile/torpedo/fighter survivability under PD fire? Are torps more durable than missiles? Are more advanced missiles/fighters tougher? Does current armor tech influence? Ar...

Yeah... we haven't figured out a good way to represent asteroid belts graphically in our display engine.

Re: Ashdar AI re: Gremak

The chief benefit to slavery is that you can force people to work for you who otherwise wouldn't. Normal colonists stop producing yields when they become discontent, but slaves keep working. The secondary benefit is that you can do inhumane things to slaves that you can't do to free people, like wor...

Re: Podcast Interview?

Well, because of the part-time nature of our development, we have trouble meeting deadlines when they're set. So our plan (if you can call it that) is to just work on the DLC and then tell the publisher about it when it's almost done. So it may be a while.

Re: Podcast Interview?

I'm good to do it, but there's a limited amount we can say about future development. If we say much more than "yes, we're working on something," our publisher will get upset with us.

Re: Maybe stations should have a single shield bubble.

ok, different suggestion, what if the station was on an orbit that went around the battlefield? its currently static, so what if it was on a track? My initial thought is that this would do more harm than good, to have a unit moving but not under the owner's control. At least in their deployed posit...

There's never any harm in making suggestions. We don't have to implement everything that's suggested.

Re: Phidi Council Victory

Sex (that is, gene-swapping) is necessary for adaptation, so we can assume that it is more or less universal among aliens. Gender dimorphism, however, is only necessary when there are substantially differing sex roles, and whether this is the case will depend on the methods of reproduction used. We ...

Come with me if you want to live. Last month's patch was a big one, and so predictably there were bugs to hunt. Today's patch contains mostly bug fixes, and we also made some balance adjustments to the AI on "Easy" difficulty. As always, your feedback and suggestions are important to us, s...

Re: Another bunch of suggestions from a neophyte

The Planetary Report/Fleet Report is meant to be a quick reference list that's small enough to be kept open all the time while you play, which I find really useful, and is something that most games of this type don't have... in my experience at least. There is only so much information that can be cr...

Re: Question regarding cyborg populations

There's supposed to be a tech that lets you de-harmonize non-Tinkers cyborgs. Let me find what it is.

[edit] It's supposed to be Cybernetic Organisms, but it looks like there's a bug that's preventing it from appearing in the tree for some factions. We'll check it out.
