i enjoy the game for almost 100h on gog (thanks for that) , about late game fleet size i think prod/ore maintenance could be a solution :
prod and ore maintenance with "exponential" cost for larger hulls .
gold maintenance only for mercenaries .

I'm not sure if anyone else feels overwhelmed form managing these number of ships but I do.
I have been playing all the three default size maps a lot + maps with around 170 stars, but have never come across such a situation.
Reason being: If I have a strong enough fleet sitting around doing ...

It's not a massive issue but when you 1st start the game, it seems all the text jumbles and pixilates. When you press the windows key to window -size the game, or if you start in a windowed size, then make the game full screen it goes away and never comes back.

I uses the sis.exe for the 1st and last part, then the sis64.exe in the middle.
So to clarify: have you experienced any crashes since installing both versions of vc_redist?
If so, the next time the game freezes or pops up a 'serious bug' notice, before closing the game, could you open the ...

Can we make that Dreadnought “guardian” a lot more powerful? As in give it the top of the line armor, shields, generator, and weapons? On brutal mode it seems the AI was able to take it out with 2 carriers and 3 heavy cruisers after about the 30th turn.

Is there a reason not to allow transferring the rest of certain race from a planet if it's less than a 1000000 (but more than 250000)?
