Please remember that PC games used to cost about $100 to $120 back in the days. $50 to $80 for a full game and $25 for an addon pack were also common numbers I grew up with.
I found something weird happening... Railguns: I've played Humans and unlocked Rapid Fire and Armor Piercing Lasers (after Adv. Turbolasers) as well as Railguns. The auto designer using balanced often puts two Railguns in the slots of the Human Heavy Cruisers, Assault Cruisers and Battleships. On th...
A question to Sven and on topic: Does the hard and brutal AI cheat as in gets a resource multiplicator or some base income? I played a large map versus 8 brutal AIs and I allied with half the guys while they annihilated each other. In the end the Phidi controlled 40% and I as Yoral 30% of the map an...
I found UniTol, Lithovore, Aquatic and Subterranean combinations can be strong powerhouses in MoO2, even more so than Creative. Telepathy to blitz the small galaxy ;). Remember doing an aquatic playthrough essentially starting the game with access to 4-5 oceanic (Gaia) worlds having a major advantag...
Trying out now... feels a lot more complete on first glance.
Dunno if I asked this in the past but are there any plans for racial adjustments, like a positive or negative trait picking compared to static race kits?
I can share the opinion on the new MoO. It feels like a dumbed down version of the previous games, in a very similar way I have felt about XCOM vs X-Com. As a long time MoO and MoO2 fan this is a disappointment. I do see people enjoying it though.
The tech trees in GalCiv 3 is quite nice. You're either getting a short list view of what you can research right now or see the whole tree. The trees are split up in four areas, like military, construction, economy/diplomacy and ecology. It's quite easy to navigate
I've played some StarDrive 2 lately and the way refitting works there is that you can see all your fleets in a window and pick the ships to be refit having a list to the right hand side to pick a design from and these ships go to the next best planet. Your production output will be applied to the ne...
What I found is that the more base production you've got the more colonies, money income (freighters etc.), rushed projects, ships in the field and more RP through more population you're going to have thus having a higher chance to get either victories than a research focused race.
I know that weapons are going to be balanced, but is it intentional that some medium weapons in heavy slots still deal more damage? For example a Yoral Heavy Destroyer has two heavy slots, so a Heavy Turbolaser with RF would do 4*(8 to 20) = 32-80 = ~56 average damage, with ordinary RF Turbolasers i...
Seeing things quite similar, one has to admit that SD2 is an early public beta at most, maybe it's up to date for comparison when this game is nearing release state. ;) I've played most 4X games I could get my hands on and MoO2 is the only game I came back to for the 100th time. I would not call the...
