I noticed another strange behaviour - apparently different hulls with the same default name share build progress as if they were the same hull. That's intended. I don't think the event would be an "accident". The idea would be a pathogen triggering the biological metamorphosis process, forcing the issue. There are pathogens that cause changes; for nightmare fuel, do some reading on parasites in gastropods and arthropods. But, it's just an idea. :...

Steam will try to revert any files you manually change, but as far as I'm aware, the game client does not modify lua files.

Juveniles and Adults have entirely different purposes, so you will want to manually control the conversion; having it happen automatically would not be desirable. It would be like having factories automatically transform into labs.

Yeah, the weapon mods are a) not extended deep enough into the tech tree and b) not very intuitive in the AI. Hopefully we'll get a chance to remedy that in the future.

Removing the only counter to a weapon (interception for a missile) is the most drastic, unbalancing thing you can do. There are much more effective ways of improving a weapon if the need is felt for it to be improved.

Looks like a bug of some kind.

If you could upload a log of the game in which this happened (in Options menu, click "Upload Game Logs" and then post the resulting save name here so we know which one it is), it would help us to reproduce the issue.
