Has anyone played around with a mod to make the various Gremak technologies more useful? Slave raiding and pulson launchers just don't seem very useful as they are implemented in the vanilla game.
For me it's always Xenology -> Orbital Construction, as all my early research (besides racial and population built-in) is provided by Science Star Bases, not Labs. Planets mostly are covered in Mines. Then usually go Guidance Systems (to build anti-Harpy/Pirate missile boats) and Market Theory (to ...
The "stellar surge beam" seems lacking in flavor to me, a bit too obvious an imitation of MoO2's stellar converter. "Really big pew" is kind of lacking as an explanation for why this weapon can destroy planets. The game could use an additional siege size weapon or two so the play...
We don't currently have a Patreon account. I'm not sure that's the right platform for what we're doing... I think Patreon works best when you have regular (at least monthly) updates, so that people get a sense that there is regular progress being made for their contributions. But we definitely appr...
Has Ashdar Games considered setting up a Patreon account to help support Stars in Shadow? I really enjoy SiS but worry the awesome devs aren't making enough sales to continue to support it. I wouldn't mind kicking in a buck or two a month to help fund continued support, and suspect there are other f...

Your pics look way cool. Unfortunately I don't really have time to test this atm. But I'll try to get it downloaded within a couple of days.
Argh. It figures they'd be in German. I'm your typical ignorant American who only reads English. I am not sure, but I doubt the "second empire" books were ever published in English. The highest number I ever read was something like #88 in the Ace editions.
I would encourage the separation of refueling from communications. Maybe create a separate station module "hyperspace relay" that provides a source point for detection and communications. This could orbit any planet. However, I would require fuel depots to either have a local source of fue...
Just remembered another old game - Perry Rhodan: Operation Eastside. Gas Giants there could not be settled - but they had moons, and the moons were treated exactly like planets. No chit? Somebody made a Perry Rhodan game? Man I remember reading those books as a kid. Can I blink on "tell me mor...
The current Planet Report is meant to be a simple quick reference that can be up all the time without cluttering up the main map. I would rather add a dedicated full-screen planet report that can be all things to all people rather than continue to try to cram more and more into the quick reference ...
The current version of the planetary report, and Siyoa's/harpy eagle's mod of it, the population report, show a single pane of planets. With my monitor's resolution, these panes can show 12-13 planets, depending how carefully I adjust the slider. However, it is nearly inevitable, in even very small ...
It could be good if it was possible to do something with non-colonizable worlds besides use them to anchor orbitals. Perhaps mining outposts or something like that. Not full-fledged colonies but something somewhat interesting and valuable. I think Arioch has mentioned eventually including one or mo...
Tested your download and the text rollover seems to work fine. I suspect some people will prefer the icons so you might try to keep both options if you get around to integrating this stuff. And you deserve a big thank you for all your work.
The icons looked really cool. Until you realize Arioch deliberately developed his art for ships and population icons to have matching color schemes for both, so when an empire's transports are loaded with the base empire population the population icons blend right in. It doesn't help that Yoral and ...
