I've narrowed this down - it looks to be related to having too many types of species on one planet? Removing all the Threshers from Bacab seemed to fix it. It's not "too many races", it's some of the minor races that cause this issue, because they lack some of the "chibi" icons ...
Had a crash on the current in-development version (r38808). Apparently it was triggered by a report about unhappy Harmonized Humans becoming content again - I think the problem is that there's no Chibi for harmonized populations, so the notification icon can't be built. I worked around it by making ...
FWIW: Some browsers now default to https, and display an error message instead of trying http. Not the site's fault, but potentially bad for business. Forum members who reuse their password are at greater risk if the connection is not encrypted. And kinda out there: While you don't do any transactio...
I don't think the average player would have any idea, intuitively, of the difference between "upgrading" a ship and "refitting" one. One presumably doesn't refit a ship unless the refit is an upgrade. If that's the issue, call it "auto-refit" or something while the old...

Argh. It figures they'd be in German. I'm your typical ignorant American who only reads English. I am not sure, but I doubt the "second empire" books were ever published in English. The highest number I ever read was something like #88 in the Ace editions. Let me check the list on perrype...
Just remembered another old game - Perry Rhodan: Operation Eastside. Gas Giants there could not be settled - but they had moons, and the moons were treated exactly like planets. No chit? Somebody made a Perry Rhodan game? Man I remember reading those books as a kid. Can I blink on "tell me mor...
We want to avoid the situation where you can always place colonies on all four orbital slots. This is partly for the flavor of the game -- good colony sites should be rare enough that factions may get into conflict over the best ones -- and partly for mechanical considerations, as increasing the nu...
