I really like the idea of having more unique technologies you can uncover that could really mix up your standard tech order/ship design.
For example you get some really useful ship component blueprint from an artifact but you don't have the reactor tech to equip it so you change your plans around ...

Yoral have the nicest looking ships. Also strong production + large habitability range = win.
But I also really like Imperials because I played Hivers is SotS and the gate network really does make managing stuff late-game much easier.

I have disruptors that I nicked from the imperials. I only research economic tech and steal all else in battle.

Stations and planetary defenses are my bane with their large crew numbers. Can't really touch their prime worlds due to defenses.

In my Human game my mainline design is a destroyer with a boarding pod in the medium slot. Deviously effective and cheap to pump out from the single factory worlds. Right now my opponents all use beams so the small PD slots all ships come with are somewhat wasted.

I remember that every single civ game has had some kind of expansion penalty in one form or another. Corruption (distance from capital), health, happiness, city upkeep and possibly more that I can't currently remember.

From the Ship Information screen you can instead of a ship click on the faction crest and the details panel will say something like:

I mean if a feature is not implemented then it is better to hide it in the UI until it is ready. If you don't hide it people might get frustrated and perceive the game as unfinished.

"Go Away" is a nice touch.
That missile cruiser design looks very odd to me, the overall style idea of Tinker ships is interesting but seems a little busy to my eyes.

I think I have to pay some more attention to planet graphics as I did not know that there was a difference between a low fertility and high fertility ocean worlds.
