Re: Gremak hereditary monarchy

So if I'm parsing things correctly, it's less hereditary in principle and more because the natural advantages (size, poison, coloration) of the aristocratic lineages make them the best situated to seize a position of power once they hit adulthood?

Re: Gremak hereditary monarchy

So, on a related note, am I right in guessing that Glitok's appellation 'the Devourer' is a reference to just how many of his own siblings he ended up eating?

Gremak hereditary monarchy

Stupid question- how does a hereditary monarchy work with the Gremak practise of basically just letting their 'tadpole' stage roam wild-ish, before socialising them once they move to the juvenile stage? Do the nobility make a point of segregating their offspring from the general population? Do noble...

Re: Testing the Current Diplomacy Changes

Not sure when this change came around, but just noticed the Gremak actually enslaving conquering populations in my latest game! This has been something I've wanted to see for a while, so nice. :)

Re: Testing the Current Diplomacy Changes

OK, so, I have to say watching how the diplomatic game unfolds has made for a much different behavior in known space. My current game, space has polarised into two major alliances clashing in a savage war to the finish, and my own Phidi sitting on the sidelines and trading with both sides... and bei...

Re: Suggest - Features and Improvements

Now that you're tinkering with diplomacy, I'd suggest that you provide some insight as to what you can expect from the different AI agendas once Alien Psychology is researched. What exactly 'Idealistic' or 'Pragmatic' mean can be a little obscure, but presumably your advisors can give you some analy...

Update server

As of late, the test update server has been rather cranky for me. I've frequently had to retry repeatedly to successfully complete an update and send logs back, or confirm I'm up to date. Not sure how much control you guys have over that, but thought you should know.

Re: Default population in building colony ship/colony should be main race.

The problem with always using the faction's primary race is that it can deplete the planet of that race, sometimes leading to morale problems, especially in the early game. Another option is to have a distinct colony ship build option in the build menu for each available race, but this can really c...

Re: Moving fractions of population.

I know I've wanted to do this on freshly conquered worlds when I try to consolidate Gremak or Tinkers on fewer worlds. To move them off a planet, I have to watch their population growth like a hawk, frequently, after I seed the planet with Phidi, Humans, and/or Ashdar.

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues

Discontented populations of all kinds are counting towards improvement staffing. As per discussion with Arioch, this is a bug.

Re: Thoughts on some population types

Understandable it's for gameplay. I still hold out hope for seeing more 'flagrant evil' from my Gremak competitors over the course of the game.

Re: Thoughts on some population types

The discussion on the Tinkers actually raises a question for me that I can't currently answer- can species that have access to Forced Labor and Experiments (not sure, for that matter, if that's tied to Slave Collars tech or to 'being Gremak') currently spend Tinkers on Forced Labor and Experiments? ...

Fair enough. I'm not entirely opposed to 'kill (nearly) all the Tinkers to take their worlds', but it's your call.

Re: Thoughts on some population types

I like all your responses and essentially agree. What I'd do for the Tinkers is not make them unable to be captured, just make it so they have higher resistance to being captured- in that I assume they'll fight to the last until the local command network is downed and they're no longer getting instr...

Re: Report - Current Bugs and Issues

Death's Hand ships are now retreating in battle to Star Harpy-controlled systems, including HSAs. Probably not intended behavior.
