Some miscellaneous suggestions: ⋅ When scrolling a system that has gained the focus, only scroll until that system clears all overlaying sidebars. Currently the focus system scrolls to the center. When a system is on the edge of the map this causes a lot of blank area to scroll into view u...
When selecting ships for an encounter, I could use a right click menu with "select all of same type ship" and "clear all selection of same type ship" so that I do not have to de-select all of my military transports. In situations like the one pictured I am just using auto combat...

As a fellow code monkey my gut tells me you are going to want to save the ground game for SiS 2.0. What you have now with bombard and invade works fine.

When I reloaded this game, control of the ships was switched back around the way it should be. So you likely will not see the issue if you load my saved game. However, maybe there is something in the logs that will help you diagnose?
Uploaded game_352, playing as Phidi. Just started an attack against a planet in a system where I control the other 2 planets. When I got to the combat screen I could control the enemy ships but not my own. I've seen this same issue once before, many weeks ago. Pardon me while I self destruct their s...
In the combat screen: When the user clicks "End Turn" please do not de-select the ships they have selected. If there is a shortcut key to end the turn then that could save some effort as well, but make it obvious what that key is in the UI, perhaps putting that key on the "End Turn&qu...
... it would be a strange partner for the new retreat mechanics Arioch and I are planning (whereby retreating ships are forced to enter hyperspace). ... As I think I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm also planning to add more techs related to ship motion -- and a station component that increases the numb...
Issue: An small enemy fleet is heading towards one of my unprotected planets. I have numerous destroyers and lighter cruisers in the area. I move some ships in to protect the target system. The next turn the enemy targets a different system, one that I just vacated to protect the first system, and i...
Why do you think it should be vice-versa? I agree with this change strictly with regards to this game's play. Historically in warfare, though, I can see how it doesn't feel right. Element of surprise and all that. Usually the defender's first hint of an attack was the bombs, artillery and/or parach...
game_247 uploaded. It is my turn in a battle. I am playing the Gremak. The enemy took one turn and launched their missiles. Suddenly I have control of their ships and no control of mine. You can bet I am planning on self destructing those bad boys. Another issue - all of my battles result in a DRAW ...
In the not to distant future, we should be adding an "auto resolve" button somewhere in the tactical HUD, and that will give you an easier way of triggering the autoresolve behavior than the current ESC->CLOSE->Next Turn formula -- which is admittedly bizarre. That makes sense, thanks.
I invaded a system with defending destroyers and a planetary defense. I destroyed the defending ships and captured a couple of them. I didn't have enough missiles left to destroy the planetary defenses, so I retreated my fleet. The ships that I captured were heavily damaged - no movement, no weapons...
